Fire Hydrant System

Fire hydrants are a connection point through which firefighters can supply water. It is an active fire protection element. Underground hydrants have been used in Europe and Asia since at least the 18th century. The hydrant systems are a 19th century invention. Hydrant pumping systems (known as fire pumps, hydrant multipliers, fire water pumps) are pressurized water pumps designed to increase the fire capacity of a building by increasing pressure on the hydrant service when the network is not sufficient or when the tank is powered. They can also be used for water transfer and irrigation.
